I am spoiled?

Monday, December 29, 2008

Christmas always seems to take forever to get here....and then *POOF*. It's gone.

We had a very nice holiday and in fact, I am feeling rather spoiled by my husband right now. LOL! But it's ok, because all year I have been very frugal and cheap and rarely spend on myself. If I do, it's on the clearance rack at Target. seriously.
I have 2 favorites out of my gifts I received...one is an AMAZING bag my husband got me by the name of D&G!
D&G! Dolce & Gabana! It is by far the nicest handbag I have ever owned and I am loving it. (Here's a pic Kel)-----> Yes, I took the pic in my bathroom where the lighting is best- lol! Also another fav gift is a pair of gray Timberlands that are actually high heeled boots! i didn't even know Tims made these- sigh. so yeah, i'm braggin for a sec about my great gifts. We have a slight obsession with Timberlands in my house...I got 3 pairs for Christmas ...the gray ones, new black ones...and white! My husband has been working hard and wanted to buy me some nice things- because I work hard at raising our son too. And he did. And I love them.

What is your fav gift you got this year?

Mad Gab fun

Saturday, December 20, 2008

Thanksgiving night we had gone to our friend's house to do our 2nd round of celebration. Two girlfriends and I decided to try our hand at the game Mad Gab. You know, the "I'm a love machine" commercial? WELL. I said from the beginning to the girls that "I'm gonna suck at this game". But it was just the opposite! I rocked! I think I was almost annoying, I was so good at this game! I couldn't understand why...I had never played before. I was sitting there laughing at how this could be....then it hit me! I am around toddlers nearly every single day- not just my own, but my friend's toddlers and preschoolers as well. This game is perfect for moms! YOU SEE, when you are around toddlers so much you need to distinguish their speaking skills and "learn" to understand them. You know, you are the only one that could understand your child that just babbled a whole sentence, and you laugh so loud...and then see that no one else knows what the hell they said??? This game is just like that, you have to listen carefully to what the person says and turn it into something that makes sense...just like interpreting a lil person's language. THIS GAME rocks. I tried explaining to my friends (one of which has no kids), but they kinda just looked at me like: sure. whatever. we just suck at this game. stop rubbing it in. Game Over.

My Week in Review.

Friday, December 19, 2008

This week was like most...filled with the good, the bad and the down right ugly.

The beginning of the week wasn't all that bad. Just me battling w/ Verizon to fix my internet connection.

Then I had a mini nervous breakdown 2 days ago as I felt sickness coming on. My throat got worse and worse and I started to freak....you see, we don't have any health insurance for a few more months since hubby started a new job on Dec. 1. I thought our insurance from his old job would hold over til the end of the month but since he quit, they cancelled us right away. that sucked. I wasn't prepared....but anyways, the thought of going to the Dr. sans insurance freaked me out since I would probably have to sign over my car in order to pay----that's how expensive it is. However, after a day...and a good nights sleep, the throat cleared up and I felt SO much better. Gavin seems to be in the clear so far too *knock on wood*

Last weekend we had to get a new tire replaced on my car. Wednesday I went out to pack up my car to visit my grandma and my neighbor showed me that I had a bubble in my NEW TIRE. So i dropped off my son and my friend's house while I took back the car to the shop to get another new tire using the warranty we had. NOTHING IS EASY. 2 1/2 hrs later and one new tire already put on, they told me we weren't covered under the warranty. I call hubby, hubby gets in argument w/ shop woman, she refuses to talk to him, i get manager, he makes me an offer, I pay, hubby and I have argument over him argueing w/ woman. UGH. LOOOONG DAY.
Wednesday night we finally got our Christmas tree! Hubby's schedule has been so hectic, but we wanted to ALL be together and let Gavin pick it out. Gavin was too excited running around so I actually got to pic out the tree. It's the first year in MANY that it fits perfect, and it's all because I picked it. It's not too fat, not too tall, not too expensive. Take THAT hubby.
Today it starts to snow. I worry hubby will get stuck out in NY. He had been on the road for hours and all i see is the news coverage of how bad the roads are that HE IS ON. It looked pretty outside for a while, but now it's raining freezing rain and everything is just turning to mush.

Did I mention my son is refusing all food today, minus Cheerios? And is regressing into tantrums again...and I'm looking forward to a nice strong drink in just a few hours. Have a great weekend!

Tips for the Holidays

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

As the holidays begin, I wanted to pass these tips along to you. Enjoy the spirit of the festivities.

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare... You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies or pralines in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Have a Great Holiday Season!!!

WHERE DO I BEGIN! THANKS VERIZON!

I am alive...all is well w/ us. I'm just SOOO friggin happy that I, ALL BY MYSELF, FIXED MY COMPUTER! I have not had internet for a week now...and honestly I'm not gonna lie, the first 4 days I thought I lost my service because I was 2 months behind on my bill. BUT I then went to call Verizon and pay my bill and asked if my internet would be turned back on ASAP...and she replied, "Miss, I do not see you have any problems w/ your account. Your service has not been interrupted". WHAT?!?! you mean i was deprived on my blogging and or Facebook obsession for no reason!?! So I put in a "ticket" for someone to check my line...and then when i called back they had our town on the list of places "experiencing service problems and our repair men are aware of the problem and are working on it" and "please be patient". WELL patience is not my best quality so I kept calling and they troubleshooted and blah blah blah....STILL NOTHING AS OF TODAY! SOOOO I said enough is enough and started from scratch and deleted and uninstalled my verizon start-up crap and reinstalled the whole program and WAAAALAAA! I am here....and I will certainly be calling Verizon back yet again to get the credit established to my account for not having service for a week. NOW I MUST GO ONLINE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY TO CATCH UP WITH ALL I HAVE MISSED! LOL!

Santa hat.

Friday, December 5, 2008

I love decorating for any holiday. I also like decorating my blog according to the holiday! As you can see by my leg lamp and countdown to Christmas tree! I would fill up this baby with all sorts of widgets if I wasn't afraid it would take an hour to load the page. SOOOO, I was fooling around on my computer during nap time the other day and actually figured out how to add a hat to my photo without having to buy any software. Because putting on one and taking a new pic would be OH SO DIFFICULT right? lol! I plan on doing that at a later date, but wanted to try this out first...cuz I didn't need to put on make-up to do it this way. There. I said it.

Anyways, it was really easy and I wanted to spread the knowledge...just like the snow effect! Every blog should have snow...and every profile pic should have a Santa hat! :) Quick shoutout to Tena and Jen and another Jen that are rockin the Santa hats!

You take a photo you already have in your pc and open it in paint. Then you draw a hat on your pic and color it in...or you can get all fancy and add a beard. lol! Now to some people it may seem obvious to "save as" as a bitmap, as opposed to a JPEG or GIFF...but I was unaware of what that even meant so it took half of naptime for me to realize why it was not saving my pic w/ the hat on my head...THEREFORE, save it as a "bitmap", not JPEG or whatever...or it won't capture the drawing you did. Once you save the new pic into your computer you can now upload it to your profile! WALA!

Gingy Houses

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Yesterday we went to my parent's house to do gingerbread houses. Gavin and his cousin had 2 houses to do...it was fun! here's some pics...THIS is MY art work right here...i got to spackle the icing all over the house. This kit did not come w/ pre-made icing...we had to mix it, and the next pic is what happens when you don't have the icing thick enough:A drippy mess. It was literally like snow sliding down a roof. We fixed it though!
The big G house (my spackling job) is starting to be decorated by the kiddies.

Note that Gavin's Christmas apron from last year now looks like a bib! He has gotten so big!

I actually attempted to eat one of the candies- i think it may have been 45 yrs old. DO NOT EAT THE CANDY the kit supplies. Who knows how old that junk is.I didn't get any pics of the drippy mess one that was eventually fixed and looked really cute! I got to take this one home...where it is proudly on display for all visitors to see! Let the Christmas season begin!!

The First Skate.

Saturday, November 29, 2008

We had an adventure today! We went roller skating! Now, I have not done this in probably like 15 years...and this was Gavin's first time. I don't even know where to begin, I am so emotionally and physically drained right now. It started out OK. The rink had the usual carpeting all around, and Gavin did pretty good on that! Sooooo, off we slid towards the rink. That was a whole new world on that wooden rink. Gavin would not hold my hand, would not hold the wall. COULD NOT STAND if not holding on to anything. Would fall and get so frustrated and mad he would start flaring his arms on the floor...or just lay there. I would have a panic attack that he was gonna get run over so I'd scoop him up, only for him to play dead in my arms...then I would try to skate w/ him in between my legs. He would like that, but 30 lbs is heavy to skate across the floor! OHHHHHHH man. I could go on and on and on about this experience!

But the best part was when he was on the carpet...he would look at me and say, "You stay right there Mommy. Do NOT follow me". And then he would start skating. He'd look back and yell at me if I moved! lol! This went on for a long time...as I would creep behind him and stop suddenly when he would turn around. Some Dad watching us told me I "was cramping his style"! I told him he's 3! If I'm cramping his style at age 3...i'm in for some really rough teenage years!!!

This is the one pic I got of him actually enjoying himself. I am so proud of my little man. OH! He looked like he was 5 yrs old in these skate since they made him like 4 inches taller...and the skates were like 5 lbs each! lol~

Times Are a Changin'

They say change is good, right? right? Well...we here are in for some serious change. My husband was offered a job last week. I much better paying job. A job with much better (and cheaper) benefits. A job that could finally give my husband what he deserves, being he is such a hard worker. A job that will take him to Long Island, NY. Long Island. This is not exactly around the corner, but not ridiculously far either. The only reason it's considered far from us is because of traffic....without traffic it is only but an 1 1/2 hrs from us. With traffic, 3. Therefore...for the next month...and quite possibly longer...I will not see my husband during the week. There are more pros to this than cons for me. On one side, there's the fact that not only will he be making more $, he will be considered at the end of the first month to also help run the marketing dept and have an additional salary for that. On that same side, he is actually in a job where he's not feeling the hurt of the bad economy and most likely will not. He has the potential to flourish there and eventually help expand and open a new office in NJ. OR, flourish in NY and move us out to L.I. to live---not too happy about that, but whatever. On the other side, he will be greatly missed...not only by me...but by Gavin. He already goes thru Daddy withdrawals when he doesn't see him all day and night...and only gets a few mins during the morning. But we figure if we want to make sure Gavin has a great life, we must sacrafice sometimes....and we will always have the weekends. It's scary starting something new. I feel bad for my husband, but kinda excited at the same time. I really hope this goes well, and hope that we made the right decision...

Random Thoughts about the American Music Awards

Anyone watch the American Music Awards!?!? I DID! Minus maybe 40 mins...and even though i missed the very end and a little in the beginning part---i wanted to write a review! well, my version of one anyways...more like random thoughts about random parts.

Jimmy Kimmel did not impress me with his opener...the Jonas Brothers and their no sex thing is kinda old there Jim.

Christina Aguilera's performance was aaaaight. I'm not a fan of the huge amount of grunting she did during one part but overall she really does have a great voice.

NKOTB! First off, I cannot believe I watched them perform. I saw them in concert when I was like ten! They weren't even known yet, as they were an opening performance for Tiffany when I saw them. They looked like middle aged men that were singing teenager songs and kinda creeped me out. But at the same time I was kinda impressed! I wish someone could've taken a pic of my face during those few mins watching them because I'm sure it said it all. They did have some pretty good moves for men nearing their 40s too! LOL! After their performance however, I think I felt kinda dirty watching...cuz I decided to take a shower...therefore I missed some stuff- maybe an award and ten performances.

THERE WERE ALOT OF PERFORMANCES!

Coldplay is the new U2. That's about all I got from them.

Miley Cyrus...Miley. Miley. Miley. I TRY SO HARD NOT TO LIKE THIS GIRL. I do not watch her show, do not listen to her music....but the few times I've seen her perform on tv I am SO IMPRESSED! That girl works the stage and really gives a show...she earned her money last night.

Which I wish I could say for good old Mariah Carey. I cannot get past the DIVANESS that oozes out of every single pore that woman has. She really does look like she thinks we should be blessed to be in her presence...She has some good vocals, don't get me wrong...but she's just too into herself...I don't know about her.

The Frey. Can someone fill me in on some of those words they sang? Very whiney. Not a big fan...maybe I would be if i could understand the words.

This is where I may lose a few readers. The Jonas Brothers. I'm ducking for cover because I'm gonna say that I JUST DON'T GET IT. They are the cutest young men ever...but vocally? NOPE. I can't stand it...I wanted to like them. They performed ok, but I think looking at them is just where it's at for me. And I mean that in the most sincerely none creepy older woman way possible.

Annie Lennox rocks. Her performance was so amazing. I'm not sure the song made a lick of sense to me, but the words were really deep. She is so cool. Like, woman of the earth cool.

ok who am I missing? I know these aren't in order too by the way...i told you this is random!

Beyonce. What is up w/ the bathingsuits or underwear look? We know you are kickin it with that gorgeous body...is this Sasha Fierce's doing? lol!

Natasha Beddingfield. Don't remember much except that she looked too dressy for such a casual show that she gave...not too memorable. Not bad though either.

Alicia Keys I did not see he sing- i must've been in the shower- DAMMIT. But she is just amazing, and amazingly beautiful. I had her "No One" as a ringtone for almost a year, that song did need to win some awards. GO ALICIA.

I missed Leona Lewis, Ne-yo, Sarah M, Taylor and Kanye...sorry peeps.

I saw Pink, she was good! I loved the stage set she had too.

They had such a crazy mix of singers last night it was actually kinda funny. To put the Pussycat Dolls out there was ok w/ me only because I needed something after the Jo Bros...and all they are to me are updated burlesque but it works for them. That Nicole does have amazing vocals and I don't understand why she doesn't stray from the kitties. I'm guessing she just loves pole dancing THAT much. Can you believe that had poles? I can! it's so them.

The last thing i watched was Rihanna take the stage...and one look at her CATASTROPHE of an outfit and I bailed on the night. That girl has talent so WHAT THE HELLO WAS SHE THINKIN WITH THE OUTFIT?? I told my hubby is was like Mr. T threw up on a Gothic dressed pirate or something...i couldn't even watch- it was THAT bad. I'm not even going into the winners of the actual awards...but I think there were only about 5 awards given and 20 songs sang. Hey, they got ME to watch.

And THAT my friends, is my really bad...and really random review of the AMAs.

What did you just ask me??

Friday, November 21, 2008

My son is 3. So the questions that come out of his mouth at such a young age throw me off A LOT. I've been asked the "where do babies come from" question SEVERAL times, and so far my only answer to how they get in the belly is "magic". HE'S THREE!

So today when we were driving to my friend's for a playdate he threw me off once again. It started w/ a question he's asked before, "who's Grammy's mommy?" and I went down the list of how his Nanna is Grammy's mommy, and Nanna is also my grandma, etc. I know that can sound confusing so it doesn't bother me to repeat it. However THIS next question is a biggie. "Why doesn't Nanna have a man living with her?" OH BOY. I know my grandma (Nanna) has talked to Gavin about my grandpa, who is deceased...but it never clicked. So there's really no way i can answer this w/ "magic" again! I said, "he doesn't live with her anymore...he lives in Heaven." No answer that is one sentence is good enough anymore. "Where's Heaven?" he says. "It's high in the sky.", I reply.
"Where in the sky? Can I see it?", he says.
"No you can't see it, it's HIGH up there...in the clouds. You can only see it if you live there." give me a break, I admit I was not expecting this from a 3 year old!

"He lives with Kevin in the sky?"

How could I NOT laugh at this??? So we went in circles a bit about how I said Heaven, not Kevin and he lives with angels, blah blah blah.

Then he asks, "is there a Kevin that lives in Heaven?"

Kids. You gotta love it...even if you have no idea how to answer the questions. But my son is only 3!

Is he lookin for Kevin up there? LOL!

Theme Days.

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

As you can tell by my last post, that is about Ovaltine (lol), I'm not up to anything very interesting these days... my son and I were sick for a week and a half and so that didn't help. Tonight I'm fighting a migraine but thought I better write something because that last post was pretty sad. I mean, who writes about chocolate milk being sucha friggin big deal? ME WHEN I HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY. THAT'S WHO.

I was noticing alot of "themes" going around the blogs...like "Wordless Wednesday" and "Flashback Friday", etc. I sas thinking that maybe if i started joining in on these things it would help me with my posts, and maybe meet some more cool people. Therefore, if anyone could let me know of more of these post "themes", I would appreciate it! I may try to come up w/ my own too and see if it spreads...maybe "Stick it Saturday", where you just let loose on something that really bothers you. "Thoughtful Thursday", where you do a post about someone else's blog. How about "Tantrum Tuesday", about the last tantrum your kid had...or even an adult you know! Just some random thoughts...

Drink Your Ovaltine!

Monday, November 17, 2008

A couple of months ago I was beating myself up over the fact that I let my son try some chocolate milk. Why? Because once he got a taste, he never wanted white milk again. Once you go chocolate you never go back? lol! Anywho, I know a little Hershey's syrup shouldn't make me have panic attacks that he's getting too much sugar...a bag of cheetos is sure to be much worse, and I never cared if he had that! BUT...he was always a milk lover and I really didn't want him having chocolate milk before bed. So off to Shoprite for some research...and after sitting in the aisle reading every single chocolate powder can or syrup for 15 mins I came to the conclusion. Ovaltine IS GOOD FOR YOU! I've never had it in my entire life! Of course I know of it, thanks to A Christmas Story. But would Gavin really drink it? He DID. He never noticed a difference...did not blink an eye...never once complained...or just didn't care cuz he knew it was still chocolate in that milk! And he is getting LOADS of vitamins every single time he drinks it. No more guilt. Well, at least not about chocolate milk...

Just Some Random Thoughts...

-I'm a dork and just realized TODAY that i never installed the gadget to have people follow your blog! I know there's only a handful that do follow my blog (lol)...but I still feel like such a loser that I'm the only person not to have any followers --even if it's my own fault. So give me an ego boost and click over there to the right ----------> it won't hurt.

-I saw a new commercial today and it's for the Snuggie. Have you seen this wonderful idea!?Go to http://www.getsnuggie.com/ for those who haven't! It's a blanket with sleeves! I want this for Christmas Santa...you see, I am cold blooded. My feet are icicles whenever the temp hits below 75. I am like a snake and need sunlight to warm my blood. Ask my husband, he will attest to this. I am constantly wearing blankets around the house, and have been caught answering the door while wrapped up in one. LOL! It doesn't matter if the heat is on, i'm always cold. So this my perfect gift...and yes I am aware that it looks basically like a backwards robe and that's ok w/ me, it's still genius in my eyes.

I will read you a book Gavin, but don't make me part with my coffee!

...and on a total Random Thought:
anyone watch ER? I was holding myself back SO BAD!! i wanted to bawl my eyeballs out! they need to seriously tell viewers before the episode starts that if they have children DO NOT WATCH b/c a hurt and/or dying child will be in the episode...and so what if 90% of the viewers would change the channel! It was FREAKIN SAD!!! I think I will be banning myself from that show, last season or not...i literally am still trying to control myself because i had an anxiety attack during this show.

Funny Frames

Monday, November 10, 2008

It's a brand new week...and I'm hoping it's a good one. Halloween marked TEN years since my husband and I were together. TEN YEARS. Since it was Halloween, I spent the day with my son trick or treating and such, and my hubby had to work...however once he got home he had done his best to make it special...and included in my surprises was a brand new cell phone!! My phone wasn't bad, but you know any phone older than 6 months is outdated. And my new phone pretty much rocks. My main attraction is the camera, as you know by my posts here that 99% of my pics uploaded are from my cell...and this new phone's camera has the cutest feature!!

it's called "funny frames" and there's a bunch of frames you can put around a pic! so here's Gavin driving!

this was kinda difficult taking a pic of myself but this is the best shot i could get. LOL!!!

then i was literally chasing my husband around the house to try and snap a pic of him in this frame...it's great being so easily amused!

Flashback Friday!

Friday, November 7, 2008

here's some random pics for Flashback Friday!
This is my favorite Mommy and Me pic of me and Gavin when he was just a few months old. Check out his curly auburn hair!

Another sleeping Gavin pic. Just so peaceful and adorable on his boppy! That was a rare site, as he was cholicy and always crying unless I was holding him...see above pic, that's how we slept!

And this is a pic of me and our dog (named Pac, after Tupac Shakur- my husband's idol) we used to have. He was a rottweiler, the best dog ever. We had rescued him from an animal shelter and you would have thought we always had him. Such a wonderful and greatful dog. I miss him, it's been a few years since he passed...

Random Thoughts about this week.

Thursday, November 6, 2008

My son has passed out, and i should probably be takin a nap too right now but my nerves are just shot. I think I got just over 4 hours sleep last night...my son is sick. :( He has been having breathing and congestion problems and is back on his nebulizer. I saw it coming, as not only was my husband sick, but then I got sick over the whole weekend (still feel like shit btw) ....so it was inevitable that my son would catch something! It just stinks. I was worried that my son would inherit my allergies- to dogs, cats, mold, all that lovely year round stuff....but never thought about asthma. Neither my husband nor I have that...but I've since been educated on why he is high risk for developing it. I almost wish they would just diagnose it already so that I KNOW it is what he has. You see, that is the problem right now...he's too young to be diagnosed. And that is why I was hesitant on putting him on meds for asthma- they said he didn't have it! But it's quite clear that today when we go back to his pediatric pulmonary Dr. that I will have to hang my head while he basically says, "I told you so". He warned me this would happen should I deny the preventative treatments! UGH. I feel that I never make the right choices when it comes to alot of things, and this just added to my list...

This week was just plain shitty...the only thing good was that I was well enough to go out and vote for the first time this week. YES....it was the first time I voted. I am one of those people. One of those people that would say, "i don't DO politics, it's confusing and i don't want to know about it...". But then I had a child. Like they say, everything changes when you have a child. And I realized that I wasn't sure I wanted to bring anymore children into this messed up country...so i started educating myself. It's still confusing as hell, and every day I'm still learning... but I'm so proud that I got a gist of what's what in politics anymore! And also that I got out and voted...and yup I'm also happy with the outcome! I'm optimistic about the future now...time will tell.

Tomorrow's Friday so there is still hope that I can end this crappy week on a high note- WISH ME LUCK!

Just Another Blonde Moment

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

i've been sick. it has sucked. needless to say i feel like my son has been watchin WAY too many cartoons as i lay on the couch moaning and groaning. however i could no longer let this last post sit on here...i have quite a few things in mind once i'm up to actually putting some thought into a post; but for now this will have to due:

MY LATEST BLONDE MOMENT

Saturday morning i heading to the foodstore probably to also pick up the disgusting germs that gave me the flu later on in the day... I was standing staring at the batteries figuring out which ones i needed for my son's V-smile. Called hubby and he told me C batteries...stared some more. Finally i asked the girl that was stockin the shelves next to me a question: "do you know the difference between C2 and C4? i thought they were all just C! i just need C batteries...."

she looks at the batteries.
she looks at me.
she says, "one package has 2, one package has 4".

*hangs head*
tries to pull off the blonde moment by saying, "hahahaha, thanks! i haven't had my cup of coffee yet this morning!" and i walk away...trying to make sure she doesn't see the cup of coffee i already have been drinking.

Every Cup Counts!

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

I was at a local 7-11 recently and noticed just how deep this Presidential election has gotten. You see, they not only have regular coffee cups anymore...they have:

They also of course have McCain cups, and then Independent cups as well. I saw these and literally laughed out loud! A man came over and began to make himself a cup of coffee and to be polite asked me how I was doing...I of course replied, "I'm just laughing over these cups they have!" he then looked and asked me who I had...simultaniously seeing me pour sugar into my Obama cup...so he said, "AHH, that's who's got your vote?" and i replied something about how both parties have their problems but it's up to you to choose...my generic response to people as to not get into a debate. After all, it's just a cup of coffee I was after!

ANYWAYS...as if the cups weren't funny enough...what really got my attention was this:

THIS IS HOW YOU COUNT MY VOTE?? huh?? SO OFF TO GOOGLE I WENT!
they are indeed counting votes whenever you choose a cup... go to this website and see for yourself! http://www.7-election.com/
and wouldn't you know it...Obama is winning 60% to 40%...and according to their "election", McCain has won ONE lone state of North Carolina so far w/ a 59% to 51% lead over Obama. Is this not some funny shit that 7-11 is doing!?
They actually did this last election and I just don't recall...but according to their website their poll in the 2004 7-11 results tracked identically with published national election results -- 51% to Bush and 49% for John Kerry (within a few percentage points of actual poll results in many states!)
Just a lil coffee for thought...
ps- thank you SOOOO MUCH Kel for the GREAT award...I will be sure to do my best to pass it on tomorrow...i'm slow, i know.

The Healing Tree.

Friday, October 24, 2008

My husband got a package in the mail...

so of course my nosey ass self opened it, why not? I am his wife!

I was almost scared! what the hell is THAT!?
I take out the "pieces"...

And I call my husband and say, "Who is D. Fish? and why did this person send you a tree?"

He instantly knew it was a client of his and said he'd call me back.
Turns out it's a HEALING TREE. What do you do with such a thing, you may be wondering? Do i put it on the table to show off? do i plant it? do i burn it? WHY NO! You boil it and drain the water over some cheesecloth and DRINK THE WATER OF COURSE. How silly of me not to know this! I told my hubby i don't even drink hot green tea as it reminds me of dirty bathtub water, and he expects me to drink TREE TEA? lol!
So naturally I have googled everything from "drinking healing tree water" to "healing tree" to "tree remedies" and have found NOTHING.

I don't think I want to drink the tree water.
