A rough week...a REALLY rough day.
Sunday, July 6, 2008
Well, it's been a week since I've posted and although I'd like to pretend I was off somewhere drinking Corona's and celebrating the 4th of July...I wasn't. Instead, last Monday I got to take my son on a ride in an ambulance and into the ER so they could sew up his tiny lil forehead!
here's a brief summary as i could probably write a small book about it all...(yes, I actually took pics)
this is the TMNT Michaelangelo look that they gave him when we arrived in the ER.
The next pics are of his actual laceration to his head that he received from bouncing his head off the coffee table...i have since explained NUMEROUS times to Gavin that he is not a superhero! (skip over if you have a weak stomach for boo-boos) he was mad at me for taking a pic here...
and this is the "Third Eye Socket" pic...it really did look like he had another socket that was just missing an eyeball *shivers*. it was so scary and I may sound like it was a piece of cake now...but I was a MESS FOR DAYS!!!!!!!! and I am actually still having flashbacks of the whole ordeal. Because as like most booboo instances, i was within a foot of him when this happened and still was not able to stop it from occuring. this was the next day...
SOOOO 12 stitches later and a week of Spiderman bandaids and neosporin...tomorrow is the big day, we get to have the stitches removed...wish me luck and let's now just pray he heals nicely and doesn't have a bad scar...
Also...give me strength for the next time he gets a bad boo-boo....cuz it's the hardest thing to watch! and i'm sure there will be many more.
*note: my son is the bravest little boy and barely even cried when he got this booboo...he only cried when he saw i was...so of course i got myself under control and then he was fine! so brave and tough...problem is, i think if he had a little fear instilled in him...he may not not think he was invincable anymore.
UPDATE! Stitches came out this morning! 7/7/08 and here's today's pic...it's looking GREAT so far...
there's just a little dried blood he won't let me get off...and a scab along the left...the Dr. must've done a really good job because it looks like a lil scratch now!
