Best thing I could've done...and I'm so happy that I am able to do it! Shout out to my hubby who also makes it possible for me to do this!! I can't believe it's been a whole year...that went fast. My son is amazing and I love being able to spend every moment I can w/ him. And of course now I'm gonna take this opportunity to throw some great new pics of him on here to share with you all...

LOOK AT MY LITTLE GUY! These pics were taken this past week when we took a trip to an animal rescue zoo... it was a really nice day, and a great place to bring your kids.

I got some celebrating to do today, as well as some house cleaning, laundry, food shopping...and bathing. SOOO, catch ya later!

For American Idol watchers...

Monday, June 23, 2008

Saturday morning I get a voicemail on my cell from my mom. She was walking in town, noticed a familiar looking guy. She kept staring and started following him. It came to her who it was. She realized he noticed her now STALKING him and he turned around. She turned into a 12 year old starstruck little girl...IT WAS CONSTANTINE MAROULIS!

yeah...that guy-------------------------------------------------------->

Now I personally was a Bo Bice fan that season, and Constantine and his "gaze" into the camera kinda gave me chills. not the good kind...but I do remember that my mom was a HUGE fan Constantine's that season. So I could totally picture her going all lil girl giddie stalker-like on him.

But the cool thing is that he didn't just turn around and keep walking...he turned around to my mom and started talking to her! She said she asked how his career was doin and he said really well and that he was working really hard. He was playing in "Jesus Christ Superstar" in a nearby town and was in her town going to the beach (with a group of fellow Greek girl groupies, she added). He even invited her to go see him in the play. She was so starstruck that she never even got his autograph! GASP! cuz, that like...may be worth something someday...to some one.

Anyways...she just kept on saying how gorgeous he was and used the word "statuesque" over and over...like a Greek God? lol...but she said he was pretty built and in great shape...he is very tall too, like over 6 ft. I was visiting there later that day and when we all took a long walk on the boardwalk and thru town...I ADMIT IT...I was actually lookin for him- hey, ya never know.

So there ya go folks...another reason to go visit the Jersey Shore this summer. lol!

It Happened to Me...

Monday, June 16, 2008

It started out a great day. My friend and I took our sons to the annual Bike Rodeo in town where they have all sorts of cool stuff, and also try to educate kids about bike safety.

There was even a helicopter that landed in the baseball field and I got to take my son right up to it! He was in HEAVEN. A co-pilot took our picture...

After hours spent in the hot sun, we were sweaty and dirty and hungry and tired. SO we decided to take the kids to McDonald's and let them play in the playplace while we actually got to attempt to relax and cool off. Well, before I go there let me take a step back. You see there was firetrucks at the "rodeo" and they sprayed water from high in the sky out of the ladder hose. My son had a blast and got soaked...so I took off his pull-up (training pants) and left his shorts on. We are in the last stages of potty training (so i hope!) and figured we're outside...let's see how this goes! He always tells me when he has to pee if he doesn't have a pullup on at home.

SOOOO. We get to McD's and I said to my friend, "I should probably put a diaper on him, I'm nervous something may happen". To which she responded, and I agreed, "he just peed before we got here, he should be ok. And he usually tells you. This can be a test to see how he does".

WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!

He plays a little in the playplace...eats his Happy Meal...goes back to play for a few...

Next think i hear from high above, "Mommy my poopy fell out of my pants! Mommy my poopy fell out my pants!" There was a Dad there w/ his little girl...and i think one other small family. I don't know if/who heard my son...but in seconds i was crawling up that playground and grabbed my son---who was also covered in PEE all over the front of his pants...I snatched him up, told him to SHHHH...went over to my table, grabbed my bag, gave my friend the "LOOK" as i said, "I GOTTA GO"! I took him to the bathroom where he kept on advertising that he had to show me where the poopy was so i could clean it. After successfully shutting him up as to not be completely humiliated...we got cleaned up and changed and I went back to the playplace. I told my friend what happened QUIETLY. At that point there was only one other Dad there w/ his daughter.

She looked at me and said, "SOO, someone's child pooped in there and Gavin crawled thru it? Should we go tell them so it gets cleaned up?" So I again grabbed my son and flew out the door as to NEVER return to that McDonald's again....and my friend proceeded to tell the girl at the register that some lil kid had an "accident" in the tunnel and her friend was so upset that her son crawled thru it that they left...what a great friend I have!

HEY?! At least we told them...most people would just leave without sayin a word.
And so THAT is my most humiliating toddler story to date.

how to stress out a mom.

Friday, June 13, 2008

First you have her going that today is gonna be a really nice day and make sure you are a good boy and eat your breakfast w/out whining that "I'm not hungry" or "I don't want that".

Then, before we get to the park...and mommy stops at the store for some water so i have a drink (and coffee for her of course) make sure you and your friend start chanting at 10 am "RED JUICE, RED JUICE, RED JUICE" from the back seats....cuz you know she really wants you to have a slurpee in the morning- gotta have the sugar!!

Make sure to have your first fit within ten mins of being at the park...and make sure it's over a metal bouncing motorcycle that you sit on...cuz the metal bouncing whale and horse are just not the same thing.

After yet ANOTHER random tantrum and mommy threatens to go home...make sure you RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN ACROSS THE PARK! because that won't make things any worse...the farther she has to chase you, the happier she will be with you!

Let's just skip thru a few hours and some more tantrums and a few time-outs, shall we????

When the day continues over to your best friend's house for some cooling off in the pool... make sure you FIGHT OVER EVERY TOY your friend picks up...make sure you splash your friend in the face with water every time mommy says not to...and make sure that after you are told to behave over and over...that you refuse to take a nap because, "i know i was being mean, i won't be mean anymore mommy. i promise!". and THEN even though mommy put all the toys away so that we would have nothing to fight over...FIGHT OVER THE WATER.

why did mommy take me home early?

love,
Gavin

it's been a really "challenging" day for this Mommy and I'm not kidding. The thing is, he is a REALLY good boy...just sometimes you have days like this one! I love my son more than anything in the entire world but I think I need a drink. A big one. And as i look over my shoulder i see that my lil man has FINALLY passed out just this minute. Sweet dreams my love.

it's SO hot that...

Sunday, June 8, 2008

there's a heatwave going on here...

its's SO HOT THAT...
*the potatoes cook underground, and all you have to do to have lunch is to pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.
*farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.
*the cows are giving evaporated milk.
*the trees are whistling for the dogs.
*you no longer associate bridges (or rivers) with water.
*you can say 113 degrees without fainting.
*you eat hot chilies to cool your mouth off.
*you can make instant sun tea.
*you learn that a seat belt makes a pretty good branding iron.
*the temperature drops below 95, you feel a bit chilly.
*you've experienced condensation on your butt from the hot water in the toilet bowl.
*you would give anything to be able to splash cold water on your face.
*you can attend any function wearing shorts and a tank top.
*The 4 seasons are: tolerable, hot, really hot, and ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!
*you discover that in July, it takes only 2 fingers to drive your car.
*you discover that you can get a sunburn through your car window.
*you notice the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
*hot water now comes out of both taps.
*it's noon in July, kids are on summer vacation, and not one person is out on the streets.
*you actually burn your hand opening the car door.
*you break a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m. before work.
*no one would dream of putting vinyl upholstery in a car or not having air conditioning.
*your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
*you realize that asphalt has a liquid state

i personally don't MIND the heat...i'm just sayin'!

computer problems + PMS= Coronas

Friday, June 6, 2008

i'm having computer problems and have come to realize that computer problems and PMS just DO NOT mix. I have googled the problem in hopes of fixing it...only to be more aggrevated! you see, i have been getting "program not responding" probs for a few weeks now and I am trying to fix it ----for FREE! and out of the TWO...count it TWO...supposedly "FREE" apps that can scan and clean my pc "FOR FREE" i have been ask BOTH TIMES TO PAY TO FIX IT. Ok, maybe i'm cheap...or just on a budget, but it said fix it for free and then it's asking for money?!?!

ugh. anyways...i'm now defragmenting my computer in hopes that this may solve the problem. if not, i'm off first thing monday to email a fellow former co-worker tech guy to help me. I have no idea what i am doing but i DO KNOW that it has forced me to crack open a second Corona. word.

Dedication

This post is dedicated to COFFEE. For without it, I think I would crumble.

it's not just the caffeine either...it's the taste i crave too. There are days i have had nothing BUT coffee to drink. that's not good! lol! Recently i've gone back to loving good old Dunkin Donuts too. I strayed for a while, but got addicted to it once again. I don't discriminate though, any FRESH cup o joe is fine by me! Light and Sweet...ahhh.

How do you take your coffee? I'd take it thru an IV if possible...hook me up and keep it comin. haha!

Just another random post!

Summer Fun...and gas prices.

Sunday, June 1, 2008

Well I DO believe summer has finally arrived in good old NJ...we hit 80 degrees again today and it's lookin like the rest of the week will be nice as well. I am SOOOO happy! I have been waiting for the warm weather to get here and I'm anxious to get to the beach and spray-ground park with my son. Only thing is...these gas prices are going to kill me! My family and I spent the weekend (beautiful as the weather was) basically in town, around the house...and at the ShopRite foodstore. WHY? YOU WONDER?? well...the price of gas is as high as $3.87 here. I'm a stay at home mom...we live on one income...and a gallon of gas now costs more than a gallon of milk. Need i say more? It's depressing and it's impeding on my "mommy social life"! Looks like this is gonna be an interesting summer...it wouldn't bother me so much if it didn't mess w/ my plans for entertaining my son. I want him to have a great summer!

Am I alone here? Is the price of gas affecting your life too?

I was joking w/ my husband's friend earlier that I'm going to have to start carpooling and I don't even work. lol!
