Procrastination.

I have a tiny problem...I procrastinate over pretty important things. Sure, I'll put off the dishes til the morning many times a week. I'll wash, dry, fold the clean clothes and then leave them in piles to put away at a later date....but this REAL procrastination problem is about holidays and family/friends birthdays. I will wait until the very last second to get a card, gift or whatever it is for the holiday! I don't know what my malfunction is but this time I've gone to far w/ my problem and I have to get back on top of things!!! My son's birthday is the 29. I have nothing planned. I did not send out invitations. I just TODAY set up my evite invitations that i will be sendin to the FEW people invited that i actually have an email for! WHAT IS MY DEAL!? I mean, the party isn't until August 9th...UNTIL? see? i'm even trying to still convince myself that i'm not that far behind!
Anyone else have this procrastination problem?
Does someone have a cure for this?
Can I blame this on someone?

I can't help you at all, i tried the whole calendar thing, screw that. people know better than to expect a card on time or ever from me.

You and I are too much alike! I procrastinate ALL the time and I'm sure it freaks people out when it comes to the really important things. I just chalk it up to the fact that I work best under pressure.

I cringe even admitting this - but it's the blogosphere so what the hell. My parents paid for an Ivy league education and I would routinely blow off class, all the work until the night before the exam, then stay up all night popping No Doz. Of course I got like C's and D's. It drives my husband nuts because every day he's all: Did you make that phone call? Did you find out about XYZ? and I'm all: "not yet".

That's my middle name, but I gave it a "new age" spelling: Prokrasty'naet. (I had to be with the in crowd, you know?)
My niece’s birthday party was this past Saturday (July 26th), her actual birthday was June 21st, I bought her a gift on the way to the family dinner.

Queen...scary. my neice's bday was the 26th! and no, i haven't gotten her a gift yet. I think you just made me feel worse- JUST KIDDIN! I think i may be seeing her in 2 days, which means i have 1 1/2 days to get a gift...i'm sure you see where this is headed! lol

I am horrible about procrastinating! I have no advice -- still trying to find help tips myself.
