Me: Updated.

i got a new computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! windows vista...it ROCKS!!!!!!!

anyone have that? it's not all that different...but it is SUPER FAST, smooth, full of so much memory and I am just in heaven.

my old computer was so bad...it had NO sound card, therefore I could not hear anything. It would freeze up on me if i left the shockwave player enabled so half the time i couldn't see any pics. videos? forgetaboutit. wasn't happening. why bother, i couldn't hear anything! LOL! it would run outta memory at least 2-3 times a day and i would have to clean up the computer just so it would run smoothly. it was THAT BAD. However, it was free...so I couldn't complain much. BUT NOW that is behind me...and i'm officially into this century when it comes to electronics...cuz we also purchased our first digital camera too! did i mention my hand-me-down digital camera? it was my Dad's...again, it was free and nice of him to give me his old camera...but do you know why he got rid of it? because the battery holder lid-thingy was broke and you had to tape it down w/ black electrical tape...and that still didn't work because you would have to hold the camera and SQUEEZE the bottom so that the batteries would stay in place- while trying to take a pic at the same time. And let's not even go into how you could put in brand new batteries and take ten pics and then the batteries were almost dead. NOW, I have rechargable digital camera battery...ahhh the sweet life.

It's black and it's a meme!

Friday, January 23, 2009

When I was over at Beths' place, she was passing along a cool meme and I had keep it going. I love this meme I'm about to do because A: I don't have to tag anyone, as I never have enough people to pass meme's on to, and B: it's about handbags! This originated at Total Mom Haircut so we have her to thank too! Most women have a love for handbags, purses, pocketbooks, diaper bags, whatever it is you are sporting this season...

Here are the rules to the meme as posted by the other Beth:
1) Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No, you cannot go up to your closet and pull out that cute little purse you used back before you had kids. I want to know what you carried today.
2) I want to know how much it cost:) And this is not to judge, because I’m honestly telling you I was ready to put down some cash; I just got lucky. This is for entertainment purposes only. So spill it. And if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, I’d love to hear it.
3) Tag some chicks. And link back to this post so people know why the heck you’re showing everyone your diaper bag/non-diaper bag. ***don't worry about this one girls, no tagging necessary here- just for fun!

so this is my latest love:

My Dolce & Gabana bag. *sigh*

This is by far the nicest bag I have ever owned and I got it just this past Christmas from my husband. It's really big so it can hold anything....and so stylish it's worth the carry. I'm not even sure how much this could cost since I've never even looked at a D&G bag before but, my Mom said she was jealous so it's got to be nice! lol

I kinda wish the handles were a lil big longer so it would hang a little lower but i'm not complaining! This is a great bag for the winter and I love the detailed braided pull. There's nothing better than a good black handbag...

feel free to keep this cute meme going, without the stress of tagging anyone!

Obamatize your pictures!

Thursday, January 22, 2009

With the whole Obama-fever going down right now...I thought it seemed fit to share a cool site I stumbled upon! Obamicon.com is so fun! you can turn any pic into one that resembles the now infamous artwork you see everywhere depicting Obama in the red, white and blue hues.

This is one of my son's 3 yr old pictures that I uploaded on there...I then added my own words at the bottom. WAALAA! After all, our kids ARE our future...

Adventures in Laundry Washing.

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Unfortunatly, I am among those that must treck over to the good old laundry mat to clean our clothes. And I tell you, you NEVER know what you will witness at these places. Now, I usually go at night and leave my son w/ my husband and *sigh* use this as my alone time- how pathetic, I know. However yesterday I decided to take him during the late afternoon and have him be my helper and get all 13 loads done. All was going great....then while our clothes were in the dryer all of a sudden all these kids started pouring into the place! Living in the tri-state area, let's admit, many of the "mats" are owned and ran by people that don't even speak English. So a few of us customers start lookin at each other like WTF IS THIS? I look outside, there's a huge luxury bus w/ NY plates...and a lady stands up on a chair in the place and starts talkin to all the kids over a microphone!! i mean, there were like 30 kids! And she was not talking English...I'm almost certain it was Chinese, as all the kids were Asian. Anywho, the kids all had like a few shirts or something in a small bag and were going crazy to wash their clothes. I have never ever ever ever seen a school trip to do laundry! THIS WAS FUNNY! So kids were running all around, putting in clothes and then they all went back onto the bus. And stayed there. Boy was I happy my clothes were already in the dryer.
I folded and packed up all 200 pieces of clothing I had and loaded up 2 carts and Gavin was draggin one towards the door and I behind him...and all of a sudden BOOM! BUM RUSH OF KIDS back in the mat to retrieve their clothes right from the spin cycle! CHAOS insued! We almost got trampled! A fellow English speaking customer was trying to help save me and my son from being squashed and get ourselves thru the pack of happy-ass laundry washing children. They did not even care that a lil 3 1/2 yr old boy was forcing his way past trying to make it out of the crowd! THIS WAS SERIOUS BUSINESS HERE. I have never in my life seen such a thing. I cannot wrap my finger around the reason behind this, nor why they came from NY to this particular place on a Wednesday at 5:30 pm. I think I should've gotten some phone numbers of those kids since washing clothes made them so happy-- I would throw a few bucks at them if they wanted to wash mine! But the man that was so brave as to yell at the children to get out of our way said it best, "This is ridiculous. God Bless America". Word. Only in America.

Gotta Get Movin!

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

I. JOINED. A. GYM.

and I am on a mission. I have GOT to get into shape and knock off some lbs before I decide to destroy my body some more *AHEM* I mean and have another baby. I have no itinerary...just the good old eat less, exercise more routine. I never diet. I do not eat very healthy...but I'm also not swallowing Burger King every day either. I just hate vegetables. I have a total of maybe three that I will eat...and not often. I will eat corn. I will eat salads but only w/ cheese (and/or meats) and croutons and dressing- no veggies. I know I am weird but that's ok, that is why they make mulit-vitamins. Note to self: pick up some of those.
So, I am hoping that since I joined the gym w/ two girlfriends of mine that are also on a mission---we will succeed. I am very impatient when it comes to seeing results so I really, really hope I see something to keep me motivated! And today my legs are like Jello! YAY!

Let My Lobster Go

Saturday, January 10, 2009

Not too sure what my deal is...and why i just don't feel like doing any new posts right now...so I shall just leave you with this food for thought:
NYC eatery grants freedom to lobster centenarian

NEW YORK – A 140-year-old lobster once destined for a dinner plate received the gift of life Friday from a Park Avenue seafood restaurant.
George, the 20-pound supercentenarian crustacean, was freed by City Crab and Seafood in New York City.
"We applaud the folks at City Crab and Seafood for their compassionate decision to allow this noble old-timer to live out his days in freedom and peace," said Ingrid E. Newkirk, president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
PETA spokesman Michael McGraw said the group asked City Crab to return George to the Atlantic Ocean after a diner saw him at the restaurant, where steamed Maine lobster sells for $27 per pound. George had been caught off Newfoundland, Canada and lived in the tank for about 10 days before his release.
Some scientists estimate lobsters can live to be more than 100 years old. PETA and the restaurant guessed George's age at about 140, using a rule of thumb based on the creature's weight.
He was to be released Saturday near Kennebunkport, Maine, in an area where lobster trapping is forbidden.

Monday Madness

Monday, January 5, 2009

I took the Christmas tree down today! Isn't it funny how after Thanksgiving you're so excited to pull out all the decorations and knick-knacks and fill every inch of space w/ holiday cheer...and then after a month your all like, "This shit has to go!" Well, I kinda got to that point over the weekend...and since my hubby would keep the tree up til it turned into a hardened weapon of needles, I waited til he went to work! AND GOOD GRIEF THE MESS IT MADE! And after literally HOURS of vaccuuming and packing and stuffing and hauling and getting pricked w/ needles and sweeping...I AM DONE. And I like the fact that my living room now looks so naked.

Next step...rearranging and reconfiguring toy storage. sigh.

**On a random side note...this Travolta tragedy is getting to me. I grew up loving this fine actor, and seeing all the loving pictures of him with his son, Jett...well, it tears me up something awful! It makes me stop and think about why I have to raise my voice to my son just because he does this or that...I sometimes think we all need to take a minute after hearing about these sad occurances and be thankful for what we have. now I must go kiss my munchkin...
